Updating has died a little bit. I've been busy with so much random stuff these past few months to have time to sit and write a blog entry, however a talk with the past ACS president (2005) William Carroll has compelled me to eventually express my thoughts into writing. "As the current president of the chemistry graduate student association, what are the current activities you do?" ummmm... I go on mentioning a couple of activities but hesitated to mention our "possible" community work extension. But I guess this was a time to showcase whatever you do as an organization so I went ahead and mentioned it anyway. At this point , he totally lit up! the idea of bringing something so "high falluting" into a common man's turf totally sparked his interest. Thoughout our conversation he kept on mentioning that the "actual challenge was to bring the scientific arena to people who do not actually understand it and make people become interested". He was so passionate with this idea that I felt guilty because (as of the moment) I do not have the luxury of time to even conceptualize a plan as to how to bring things into fruition. It fustrates me though to just have all these ideas in my head but not enough passion and time to do the most important part..execution. This encounter I had with him made me retrospect and think about why I decided to go into this "career" in the first place. We share the same passion not just the time. But as they say there will always be an excuse for doing things you don't find deserving of your attention (yeah right!). So for now, I wish i had:
1) extra 10 hours everyday
2) people to do my house chores! and..
3) probably a secretary?
With this, I bet I would have enough time to do eveything I was planned to do on earth.
